Porto, Portugal
Porto, what a pleasant way to start an Eurotrip! Discover a bit of the magic of Porto through my point of view.
Porto, what a pleasant way to start an Eurotrip! It was not in my initial plans. I would start my tour in England, staying in Blackpool, but since I had a stopover in Porto, I decided to extend it for one week to explore the city.
Porto is vibrant: full of life, people, history, culture, and food. I fell in love really by the city, probably because it was familiar to me as a Brazilian. Right on my first day, I could enjoy the famous wine of Porto, explore the city, and taste the delicious roasted chestnuts. In the following days, I could have pastéis de nata and francesinha, and as soon as my wife (my girlfriend at the moment) and I could celebrate my birthday, visiting the most beautiful bookshop in the world, Livraria Lello. We also visited the Vogue Café, Torre dos Clérigos (where you can have a panoramic view of the city), and the Palácio da Bolsa. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to visit the caves of Porto as I wanted to..
This city has our heart, and although I avoid ranking my trips (because I believe each experience is different, not better), Porto is definitely a place I would love to come back to soon.
